• Can’t Say No – Chapter 10

Shapes whizzed by in a blur out the window. With enough speed, even the boring, familiar route home could be terrifying. I sat in the passenger seat, sweaty, legs splayed, trying to catch my breath from the run to the car.

“Aren’t you driving kind of… fast?” Outside, we flashed past a yellow light. “I thought Mr. Lunder wasn’t coming over for another…” In my head, I puzzled with the mental math. After a few moments, however, the notifications on my phone saved me. “Well, not until later tonight…”

    A touch in the crowd

Sam bobbed his head unconsciously to the beat, acknowledging the song’s rhythm with his body. In this regard he was no different from his glitter coated crowd mates. An unremarkable member of the thrumming concert hive. In this landscape of low light and muted senses, complex human features were reduced to vague traits of tall, short, man, woman.

He weaved toward his quarry, murmuring apologies at incidental contacts. When he’d glimpsed her dancing amidst the crowd, the thrill had touched him. The excitement of knowing what lay ahead. There was no finer feeling than observing your quarry, innocuously minding their business, clueless to what lay in store for them. Their ignorant innocence was savory.

Sending invoices was fun, it meant you got money. Receiving bills on the other hand, was painful. At the end of the day, it was all about revenues and expenses. If the revenues fell short of the expenses, you were in trouble. In the business world everyone knew that. Mrs. Gartner had been a part of that world, a lifetime ago.

The bill in question sat malevolently on her desk. Unopened. There was no need. Mrs. Gartner knew enough math to know she was fucked. In fact, considering the modern world, it was a miracle she’d lasted this long. Sixteen years was a damn long time as a single mom, it was unheard of. Her former colleagues had fallen by the wayside a decade ago.

The bell rang. Soon the halls of Newland High School were overrun with packs of grubby teenagers. As a Senior, I was over the noise and the idiocy, and eager to move on to college. My future, however, was still up in the air. There was no denying how desperately I needed a scholarship offer. My game on the soccer field should have been enough to propel me, but I had other hurdles to contend with. I’d turned eighteen a week and a half ago, and my life had been collapsing ever since.

A new threat had emerged to jeopardize my soccer career, not a catastrophic injury or even poor play, but pregnancy. Anyone who got pregnant was confined to bedrest. If that happened to me, my soccer season would end before it started. There would be scant chance of a scholarship then.

The classroom burst into movement as the end of school bell rang. To an unsuspecting onlooker, the students would have looked like normal High Schoolers, eager to get home—however, there were subtle differences, and Evelyn knew how to spot them.

She kept her eyes on one girl in particular. Caroline sat near the front. She was a gymnast or something, not that Evelyn cared.

Caroline had a petite fitness about her. To Evelyn, the girl’s greatest quality was not only her physique, but the fact her birthday fell on September 7th. She had been 18 for a full month before Evelyn’s birthday, and she was the ideal shield.

I was running across the soccer pitch, but my feet wouldn’t move. I felt like I was running through molasses. Why am I so slow? Crying filled my ears. I shook my head, but the sound wouldn’t go away.

Emily ran into me and stole the ball. I tried run after her, but I was too slow. Slow. I looked down. My stomach, normally flat, was bulging conspicuously. How long have I been pregnant? As I looked, my stomach began to swell, growing bigger by the second, the pain was intense. No. Stop. Stop. Stop. Ahead of me, Emily scored the ball. The crowd erupted.

Principal Walker drummed his fingers on the desk. The sound was satisfying. His desk was an imposing piece of furniture, chosen deliberately to emphasize his position of authority. A student on the other side would feel small in comparison.

The fidgeting helped distract him from his growing excitement. He loved his job. Sixteen years ago, he had been a lowly assistant-principal, waist-deep in administrative work. He never could’ve anticipated how quickly his prospects would rise. New laws had led to the dismissal of his female boss. His subsequent promotion had given him unchecked dominion over the school. Now he was free to enjoy the perks of his position.

I breathed deeply. The interior of Matt’s car smelled nice. Focusing on my breath was trick I used to stay calm during sports. The steady flow of air was reassuring in uncomfortable situations.

Signs whipped by as we cruised down the road. It hadn’t taken me long to lose track of where we were headed. I had my driver’s license, but I rarely drove. Mom had the family’s only car. Back while I was in driver’s ed, mom had saved up to buy me a car, but cars were expensive and she used the money for my soccer camp instead. At first, I was a little disappointed, but it wasn’t so bad being ferried around. I was lucky to have a mom with a car anyway.

Despite everything, I was excited for fourth hour ceramics. Working with my hands was fun, and pottery was an opportunity to zone out. People kept to themselves while they worked, so no one would notice my dishevelment. Taking care to avoid the pre-class chatter, I took my assigned seat and waited for the bell. All the while, I tried not to think about the cum seeping its way inside of me.

Heat prickled my cheeks. The hour with Mr. Stephenson had gotten me worked up. It wasn’t that I found him attractive, but his stimulation had left me full of pent up energy. Now, I couldn’t shift my mind back to school.

  • Can’t Say No – Chapter 2

By the time I got back to the car, a half hour had passed. Despite promising to be quick, Mr. Lunder had savored violating me. Now I was late for school. My body shuddered as I relived the sensation of being pinned down. I wanted to shower and wash the experience from my mind, but there was no longer time. I couldn’t afford to be late to school. Extra attention was the last thing a girl needed on her 18th birthday.

I knew my birthday would lead to heightened interest in me at school. If I didn’t show up on time, friends would talk and people would think I’d skipped out. Girls had tried running before, and they always got caught. Sometimes judges were lenient with first time offenders, but not always.
